My Story

What started as a personal search for accessories and pretty things to make me feel good, soon sparked a passion in me to learn the skills to make my own unique pieces. My grandfather was a jeweller in Hatton Garden, even making and mending pieces for some of the 70's and 80's rich and famous. I guess from that, you could say it's in my blood and I'm sure he's looking down on me, smiling in the knowledge that I am following in his footsteps.

I was happy just making jewellery myself but it was my friend Hazel that convinced me to teach workshops. She ran community craft events and thought adding silversmithing to the list was be a good idea.

I have to say, I was super nervous teaching my first ever class. In fact I was shaking so much I kept knocking the solder off the ring. By the end of the class however, I was over the moon. Seeing the joy on everyone’s faces at what they created made me realise I want to do more of this.

From there I have worked with so many wonderful companies, teaching my workshops throughout the London area. Each and every class has been unique and so much fun to teach.

The Elizabeth Line has made Woolwich super accessible from London and beyond and when the venue became available, I jumped at the chance.

I didn’t just want it to be a space for my workshops though. I wanted a community space. A space to exhibit artwork, a space to hold various creative and educational events. Most importantly though, a place where people can come together and have a chat and a cuppa.

House of Denna is a house where everyone should feel at home.
